We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to join our downtown Los Angeles office who will be responsible for leading the growth and development of the service department. This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer service skills, who is a motivated self-starter, and a team player.

Reporting Structure:  This position will report directly to the Regional Project Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a customer-focused service department by developing business strategies to drive growth and profitability effectively through service jobs and maintenance contracts
  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, and management of field technicians including scheduling, setting priorities, conducting meetings, and supervising work assignments
  • Troubleshoot customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers
  • Prepare proposals and quotes for current and future projects and planned maintenance
  • Responsible for ordering required materials and equipment for customers
  • Manage the warranty work for OPM’s construction projects
  • Provide a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, cooperating with site safety policies, and, participating in site-specific safety programs
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed service reports
  • Monitor service vehicles to ensure they are in acceptable condition, maintained, and have adequate inventory of parts and material
  • Keep current with latest factory training on current products, coordinates HVAC technician training and maintains training records to ensure personnel maintain proficiency in start-up, troubleshooting and repair of supported equipment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technical qualification and at least ten (10) years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration systems and controls
  • Five years HVAC Management related experience
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Certificate or diploma in business or a related field is considered an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, & Excel)
  • Has the ability to read, interpret and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to HVAC & refrigeration systems
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid CA driver’s license is required with a clean driving record and background
